The stock opened at Rs. 291.30 and traded within a daily range of Rs. 289.80 and Rs. 301.40.

The broader market and sector also experienced positive momentum, with the benchmark Nifty rising 1.68% and the Nifty Energy sector index advancing 3.92%. Petronet's performance aligned closely with its sectoral gains, reflecting broader buying interest across energy equities rather than isolated stock movement.

The upward price action coincided with Petronet LNG Limited's financial results announcement for the quarter and half-year ended September 30, 2026, alongside the declaration of an interim dividend of Rs. 7 per equity share. While these corporate updates provide ongoing operational context, market participants are also monitoring the broader energy price trends and regulatory filings related to the company.

44.85 lakh shares traded by 2 November 2026 · 03:30 PM IST. Separately, the NSE report for 2 November 2026 showed 25.04 lakh shares delivered, representing 55.82% of that day’s traded volume. The simultaneous release of September quarter financial results and a Rs. 7 interim dividend provided supportive fundamental context for the positive price movement.

Research the Market — Not Just the Headline

Explore WittyTrades research across market segments.

Explore WittyTrades Research →

Latest Company Developments

Joint Venture Term Sheet for Compressed Bio-Gas

22 October 2026

Petronet LNG Limited signed a binding term sheet with Gruner Renewable Energy Private Limited on October 22, 2026, to form a 50:50 joint venture. We have reviewed the accompanying statement of unaudited standalone financial results ('the Statement') of Petronet LNG Limited ('the Company') for the quarter and six months ended 30th September 2026 being submitted by the Company pursuant to the requirement of Regulation 33 of SEBI (Listing Obligation and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, as amended ('the Regulations'). 2. This Statement, which is the responsibility of the Company's management and has been approved by the Company's Board of Directors, has been prepared in accordance with the recognition and measurement principles laid down in the Indian Accounting Standard 34 "Interim Financial Reporting" ("Ind AS 34"), prescribed under section 133 of the Companies Act, 2013 read with relevant rules issued thereunder and other accounting principles generally accepted in India and in compliance with Regulation 33 of the Listing Regulations. Our responsibility is to express a conclusion on the Statement based on our review. 3. We conducted our review of the Statement in accordance with the Standard on Review Engagements (SRE) 2410 'Review of Interim Financial Information performed by the Independent Auditor of the Entity', issued by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). This standard requires that we plan and perform the review to obtain moderate assurance as to whether the financial statements are free of material misstatement. A review of interim financial information consists of making inquiries, primarily of persons responsible for financial and accounting matters, and applying analytical and other review procedures. A review is substantially less in scope than an audit conducted in accordance with Standards on Auditing and consequently does not enable us to obtain assurance that we would become aware of all significant matters that might be identified in an audit. Accordingly, we do not express an audit opinion. 4. Based on our review conducted as above, nothing has come to our attention that causes us to believe that the accompanying Statement of unaudited standalone financial results prepared in accordance with the recognition and measurement principles laid down in the applicable Indian Accounting Standards specified under Section 133 of the Companies Act, 2013 read with relevant rules issued thereunder and other accounting principles generally accepted in India, has not disclosed the information required to be disclosed in terms of Regulation 33 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, as amended, including the manner in which it is to be disclosed, or that it contains any material misstatement. Emphasis of Matter 5. We draw attention to Note 3 to the Statement regarding the recoverability of Use or Pay ("UoP") dues as at 30th September 2026 included in trade receivables amounting to Rs. 408.23 crore (gross), (Rs. 177.51 crore (net) after making a provision of Rs. 230.72 crore). The Note also describes the recovery mechanisms agreed with customers and the progress made towards recovery of the outstanding UoP dues, including the settlement of certain UoP dues during the current quarter and six months ended. Management is confident of recovery of the outstanding UoP dues based on the contractual arrangements and recovery mechanisms agreed with the customers. We draw attention to Note 4 of the Statement regarding claims aggregating to Rs. 625.42 crore plus applicable taxes as at 30th September 2026 by the owners of the Company's dedicated LNG vessels and other associated costs arising from the suspension of operations of the vessels. The Company has not recognised any provision in respect of these claims, as, in its assessment, the claims are not tenable under the contractual obligations under the respective Time Charter Agreements. The vessel owners have initiated arbitration proceedings in respect of their claims, the outcome of which and the resultant financial impact, if any, cannot presently be determined. Our conclusion is not modified in respect of above matters. Place: New Delhi Date: 02nd November 2026 For V. Sankar Aiyar & Co. The statutory auditors of the Company have carried out limited review of the aforesaid results. 2 The Company primarily operates in the business of import and processing of liquefied natural gas. Accordingly, there is only one Reportable Segment i.e. "Natural Gas Business". Hence, no specific disclosure has been made w.r.t. operating segments. 3 Trade receivables as at 30th September 2026 include 'Use or Pay' (UoP) dues amounting to Rs. 408.23 crore (gross) (Rs. 177.51 crore (net) after making a provision of Rs. 230.72 crore). These dues have arisen due to lower capacity utilisation by customers under long-term regasification agreements entered into by the Company. These UoP dues pertain to FY 2022-23 (CY 2022): Rs. 13.11 crore, FY 2023--24 (CY 2023): Rs. 228.89 crore, FY 2024-25 (CY 2024): Rs.117.27 crore and FY 2025-26 (CY 2025): Rs. 48.96 Crore. The Board had approved a recovery mechanism for UoP dues relating lo CY 2023 and CY 2024, in accordance with agreements reached with customers. Bank guarantees pertaining to outstanding UoP dues for CY 2023 and CY 2024 have been received from the customers. As per the terms of the Settlement Agreement under the recovery mechanism for Use or Pay (UoP) dues of CY 2023, some of the customers have brought LNG quantities up to 30th September 2026, for which revenue has been recognised al the prevailing Regasification Rate. Correspondingly, the Company has waived off UoP dues amounting to Rs. 252.80 Crore and Rs 311.61 Crore during the quarter and half year ended 30th September 2026 respectively by charging ii lo the Statement of Profit and Loss. The Company continues to engage with the Customers for the recovery of UoP dues. While some customers have not provided balance confirmations for the UoP dues, management remains confident of recovery, as the amounts are contractually obligated. As a measure of prudence, the Company has made a time-based provision of Rs. 230.72 Crore as at 30th September 2026 (Rs.306.82 crore as at 31st March 2026). 4 The Company has a long-term Sale and Purchase Agreement (SPA) with QatarEnergy LNG S (2) (QE) for the supply of 7.50 MMTPA of LNG on FOB basis from Qatar. The Company also has corresponding long-term Gas Sale and Purchase Agreements (GSPAs) with its customers i"}],"recent_news":[{"summary":"Petronet LNG Limited has submitted to the Exchange, the financial results for the period ended September 30, 2026.","category":"Outcome of Board Meeting","date":"02-Nov-2026 15:55:04","source":"NSE filing","industry":"Gas","source_url":"https://nsearchives.nseindia.com/corporate/PETRONET_02112026155446_OutcomeBoardMeeting02112026si.pdf","headline":"Earnings / operating update","impact":"Earnings updates are directly relevant to valuation.
